Unlike a traditional one-piece central vacuum, the S1660 uses a separate motor unit and DC1200 dirt collection canister. The power unit houses the motor while the large 27-quart dirt can provides dedicated debris collection, making this configuration a practical option for installations where a split central vacuum system is preferred.
